Cuba rejects US withdrawal from the nuclear agreement with Iran

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba expresses its deep rejection of the decision of the United States government to withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (PAIC) or Nuclear Agreement with Iran and to reimpose sanctions on this country. Failure to comply with these international commitments violates the rules of coexistence between States and can have serious consequences for stability and security in the Middle East.

Cuba opposes the application of unilateral coercive economic measures against any country and recognizes the legitimate right of all States to the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. At the same time, it calls on the Security Council of the United Nations to fulfill the responsibility conferred on it by the UN Charter in the maintenance of international peace and security, demanding the fulfillment of its resolution 2231 (2015) on the nuclear issue Iranian, unanimously approved in that body.
