Cuba remains an example for the world

The close fraternal ties that unite the peoples of Cuba and Namibia, and the island's role in the war for independence of this African nation, were highlighted in a meeting between Ambassador Sergio Vigoa de la Uz and the Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Security and Safety of Namibia, Honorable Lucia Iipumbu.

The SWAPO Political Bureau member also condemned the aggressive policy of the United States government against Cuba, exacerbated by President Trump's new decree authorizing the imposition of tariffs on nations that supply oil to Cuba, due to the supposed threat posed by the largest of the Antilles.

"Cuba has suffered a relentless blockade from the United States government that intensifies every year, and has always demonstrated unity and a defense of its sovereignty. You continue to be an example for the entire world," the Namibian leader stated.

The diplomat expressed his gratitude for Namibia's unwavering support for Cuba in the regional and international community, its rejection of the US economic, commercial, and financial blockade, and its opposition to recent measures aimed at suffocating the Cuban people.

During the meeting, they discussed cooperation on immigration and civil registration, as well as matters of interest to the Cuban community residing in Namibia and government support.
