Cuba Showcases Business and Investment Opportunities at TIC 2026 Trade Fair in Trinidad and Tobago

Port of Spain, July 10th, 2026. The Embassy of Cuba in Trinidad and Tobago participated in TIC 2026, the Trade and Investment Convention organized by the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers' Association (TTMA), one of the Caribbean's leading trade and investment events.
As part of the Convention, a Seminar on Cuba was held, during which H. E. Gustavo Veliz, delivered a presentation entitled "Cuba: Business and Investment Opportunities." The presentation highlighted Cuba's ongoing economic transformation process, including the 176 measures adopted by the Cuban Government to stimulate economic growth, promote investment, and strengthen the country's business environment.
The Ambassador  Véliz Olivares, also emphasized the significant opportunities to expand trade and investment between Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, and the wider Caribbean. He further addressed the adverse impact of the United States' economic, commercial, financial and energy blockade against Cuba, stressing its negative effects on Cuba's economic development and on international trade and investment relations.
Dr. Jude Carrasquero, Representative in Havana of the Trade Facilitation Office, briefed participants on the potential of the Cuban market for trade with Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean, highlighting promising prospects for increased commercial exchanges and business cooperation.


Participants also viewed an institutional video introducing BioCubaFarma, Cuba's biotechnology and pharmaceutical group, as well as an audiovisual presentation with voice-over showcasing the services and business solutions offered by Multiserf Trade S.A.

 


Cuba's participation in TIC 2026 reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening economic ties with Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean by promoting new opportunities for trade, investment and mutually beneficial cooperation.
