The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr. Aleš Cantarutti will pay a visit to Cuba from 26 to 31 March 2019. He will head a delegation from his country also composed of Ambassador Melita Gabrič; Ms. Maja Tomanič-Vidovič, Director of the Slovene Enterprise Fund; Mr. Iztok Grmek, Director of Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; as well as representatives of the business sector.
The Slovenian delegation will execute an intense working program in Havana, which includes participation in the Cuba-Slovenia Business Forum, a tour across the Mariel Special Development Zone and visits to entities of the biopharmaceutical industry sector.
Deputy Minister Cantarutti will be received in the ministries of foreign trade and foreign investment; foreign relations; tourism; communications; and the food industry.
Cuba and Slovenia strengthen their ties in all sectors, mainly in the economic and commercial sector.
The first Business Forum Cuba - Slovenia, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, was held in Ljubljana, Slovenian capital in June 2018.
The opening of the second bilateral Business Forum will take place in the Cuban Capital on 27 March 2019, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba and the Slovene Enterprise Fund.
Cuba and Slovenia established diplomatic relations in 1992.
