Cuban Ambassador to the African Union pays courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, December 30, 2025.- The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernández, paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Ethiopia, where he held a fruitful exchange with his counterpart, Ambassador Abdullahi Mohamed Warfa.

During the meeting, both diplomats exchanged views on issues of common interest at the regional and international levels, underscoring the importance of multilateralism, respect for international law, and the role of the African Union in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development on the African continent.

Within the framework of the dialogue, the Cuban Ambassador reaffirmed Cuba’s historic position in support of the right of peoples to self-determination, as well as its firm commitment to the sovereignty of States.

For his part, the Ambassador of Somalia highlighted the importance of strengthening South-South cooperation and expressed appreciation for Cuba’s solidarity-driven role at the international level.

Both sides agreed on the willingness to continue strengthening bilateral relations and to maintain coordination and dialogue within multilateral forums.
