Cuban Ambassador Attended the Reception for Brazil's Independence Day

Ambassador Pedro Pablo San Jorge Rodríguez attended the reception for Brazil's Independence Day, where he was received by the Brazilian Ambassador in Bangkok Mr. Jose Borges dos Santos Junior and his wife.

The Independence of Brazil was proclaimed on September 7, 1822, through the so-called "Cry of Ipiranga", which took place on the outskirts of São Paulo.

As in the independence processes of the rest of Latin America that occurred at the same time, the independence of Brazil was initially triggered by discrepancies in the management of economic relations between colony and metropolis, and by the invasion of the Iberian Peninsula by part of Napoleon Bonaparte's troops.
