Cuban Ambassador attends book launch on Indira Gandhi.

INDIA, May 13, 2017. Ambassador Oscar Martínez Cordovés attended the launch of the book “India`s Indira a Centennial Tribute", edited by Congress leader Anand Sharma on the life of the former Premier of India, as part of the celebrations of the Centenary of the Indian leader to be commemorated this year.

The introductory remarks were given by Shri  Anand Sharma and the main speakers were the President  Shri Pranab Mukherjee,  the Vice-President  Shri Hamid Ansari, the former Prime Minister  Shri Manmohan Singh and  Shri Rahul Gandhi, Vice-President of the Indian National Congress,who read the speech on behalf of an indisposed Sonia Gandhi. All of them emphasized in their speeches the legacy on the life and work of Indira Gandhi, 33 years after his death.

This activity was carried out in the Auditorium, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library at the  Teen Murti, New Delhi, and was attended by numerous parliamentarians, congressional leaders, ambassadors, other politicians, diplomatic officials, civil society, journalists, etc. (Embassy of Cuba in India).
