In the city of Paynesville, several graduates of Cuban medical schools, along with their families and friends, decided to open a low-cost community health clinic where nearby communities can receive first aid.
Ambassador Dr. Indira López Arguelles visited the clinic and conveyed to the residents her satisfaction with the collective effort and the unity of the young graduates, who, trained in Cuba, are ready to serve their people.
The Ambassador also announced that Cuba will continues grant two scholarships to Liberia each year and that the results of this collaborative policy are beginning to bear fruit among the Liberian population.
The doctors and their families expressed their gratitude to the Cuban people and shared with those present the reality of life in Cuba, severely affected by the harshness of the blockade and hostility imposed by the U.S. government.
