The Cuban Ambassador to Austria, Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios and the staff of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in this country, held an emotional meeting with the delegation of "ÖKG", the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association which visited Cuba last April and May aiming at celebrating the 50th anniversary of the organization.
ÖKG´s President, Michael Wögerer, on behalf of the delegation, expressed satisfaction with the extensive working program organized by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP, by its Spanish initials), which included the main event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Association in the presence of the President of this Institute and Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Fernando Gonzalez Llort; the participation in the parade on the occasion of the Labour Day, in the Tribune of the Revolution Square; in the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba and in the Congress of the Cuban Workers Union.
The delegates gave the Ambassador a book of photos which includes the memories of the visit and they told anecdotes of their participation in the activities and tours of Havana, Santa Clara, Trinidad and other cities. The Ambassador thanked his friends for their gesture of solidarity in visiting Cuba and multiplying its truth in Austria. He highly recognized ÖKG´s work in supporting Cuba and fighting against the U.S. blockade for more than 50 years.
