Nassau, October 1, 2025. The Cuban Ambassador to The Bahamas, Julio César González Marchante, attended the reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy in The Bahamas to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, emphasized in her speech that her country bases its relations with other peoples on principles such as mutual respect, solidarity, and cooperation.
For his part, the Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Honorable Philip Davis, in his remarks, emphasized China's respect for the sovereignty of The Bahamas and the excellent relations between the two countries.
The Cuban ambassador greeted the Prime Minister; the Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper; and the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jerusa Léa Ali; among other government officials and invited dignitaries.
The occasion was opportune to express the Cuban gratitude for the Bahamas' support in denouncing the genocidal US blockade against the Cuban people at the 2025 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80).
