The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Azerbaijan, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, visited the Academy of Public Administration under the Presidency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Cuban diplomat met with academic Urjan Alekberov, rector of the Public Administration Academy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who provided detailed information on the history, structure and current activities of the Academy.
Alekberov noted that the Academy of Public Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, or simply the Academy of Public Administration, is a state institution for undergraduate and graduate studies that also serves as a training center by offering full and short courses to public officials to improve their professionalism.
He reported that it was created by a presidential decree on January 3, 1999 as the "Baku Institute of Social Administration and Political Science", established on the basis of the former "School of the Baku Party" of the Communist Party.
For his part, the island's ambassador also reported on the Superior School of State Paintings and the Cuban Government and stressed that it has the mission of providing the cadres with knowledge and skills to improve their performance in the positions.
Nieves Portuondo also highlighted that the Cuban institution is perfecting managers in management methods, styles and techniques, economic culture, respect for legality and the use of information and communication technologies.
At the meeting, the parties discussed not only the cooperation between the Public Administration Academy of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Higher School of State Paintings and the Government of the Republic of Cuba, but also the possibility of implementing a program of exchange of professors, students and researchers.
