Addis Ababa, October 17, 2023. The Ambassador of Cuba to Ethiopia, Jorge Lefebre Nicolás, held a working meeting with Mr. Eskinder Yirga, Deputy Director General for European and American Affairs and Ms. Selamawit Shenkute, Director for South America and the Caribbean, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
The Cuban diplomat thanked the opportunity to exchange on bilateral issues of mutual interest with the directors of the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry and thanked the recent visit of the Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen to Cuba within the framework of the G-77 plus China Summit.
During the meeting, the Deputy Director congratulated Cuba on its recent election as a member of the Human Rights Council and praised Cuba's international recognition in the field of human rights. Mr. Yirga thanked Cuba for the support provided to Ethiopia in multilateral forums.
