Cuban ambassador holds fruitful meeting with health authorities on the island of Nevis.

Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis. Ambassador Giuvel Orozco Ortega made his first official visit to the island of Nevis, where he held a fruitful exchange with the Honorable Jahnel Nisbett, Minister of Health.

The Cuban diplomat highlighted the long-standing relationship between the people of Cuba and Saint Kitts and Nevis and the excellent diplomatic relations maintained for 30 years. He also reaffirmed Cuba's commitment to continue collaborating with the people and authorities of Nevis in the health sector and in granting university and postgraduate scholarships for young people, as part of the cooperation between the largest of the Antilles and the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.

During the visit, the Ambassador also had the opportunity to visit Alexandra Hospital, where Cuban health workers are employed. On that occasion, he held an important meeting with Mrs. Shelisa Martin-Clarke, Permanent Secretary of Health, and the wonderful hospital management team, where Cuba's support in the field of health to the Caribbean Island was highlighted and the dedication, humanism, and professionalism of the Cuban specialists were recognized.

On the afternoon of the same day, a fruitful meeting was also held with members of the medical brigade and Cuban residents in the territory, with whom discussions were held on various issues relating to the national situation and consular support from the Cuban Embassy in Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The Cuban ambassador was accompanied by counselor Anielys Ruiz, who is in charge of consular affairs and international cooperation.
