Cuban ambassador holds meeting with federal leadership of the Communist Youth of Austria

Vienna, September 1, 2025.- The Cuban Ambassador to Austria, Pablo Berti Oliva, held a productive meeting with members of the federal leadership of the Communist Youth of Austria (KJÖ), as part of efforts to strengthen ties between youth political organizations in Austria and Cuba.

During the meeting, Ambassador Berti Oliva stressed the importance of continuing to promote dialogue and cooperation between Cuban and Austrian youth, especially through the exchange of experiences and solidarity work. He underscored the value of the recent participation of KJÖ members in the brigade organized by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) in July, which has laid the groundwork for closer collaboration. He also addressed the challenges facing younger generations in the current context of the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.

During the exchange, First Secretary in charge of bilateral affairs, Lisset González López, presented the young Austrian communists with possible new avenues for joint work in areas of common interest, such as political education, the fight against disinformation campaigns, and the promotion of internationalist solidarity.

This meeting reaffirms the willingness of both parties to deepen ties of friendship and cooperation, for the benefit of new generations of Cubans and Austrians.
