Cuban Ambassador to India, Alejandro Simancas Marin, was received by Ajay Bhadoo, Joint Secretary of the Indian Presidency, to whom he delivered the official congratulatory message of the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, to His Excellency Draupadi Murmu, President of the Republic of India, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the independence of this country on August 15. In his message, the Cuban Head of State conveyed his sincere congratulations on behalf of the Cuban government and people and thus joined India's celebrations for its independence.
On the occasion of this important historical date, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz also extended a message of congratulations to His Excellency Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, and Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla also conveyed his congratulations to his Indian counterpart Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
During the meeting, the Cuban Ambassador and the senior official of the Indian Presidency highlighted the historical character of friendship of the bilateral relations and ratified the interest in strengthening them.
