Cuban Ambassador Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz held talks this Thursday with the Honorable Mona Fortier, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and a member of the Canadian Parliament. The meeting served to address the state of bilateral relations and provide an update on the actions taken during the year to commemorate the 80th anniversary of bilateral relations between our states.
As part of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the situation in Cuba today, largely due to the impact of the blockade imposed by the U.S. and its policy of financial and energy persecution. On this particular point, the Parliamentary Secretary reiterated her country's historical position against the Blockade.
Also participating in the meeting on the Cuban side were Dany Tur de la Concepción, Second Chief of Mission, and Mariset Vazquez, First Secretary.
