Ambassador Giuvel Orozco Ortega held a courtesy meeting with Ms. Kaye Bass, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after presenting the Letter of Credentials that accredit him as the new Cuban representative to the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
During the meeting, both parties reaffirmed the excellent state of diplomatic relations, which recently celebrated their 30th anniversary, built on a foundation of respect, friendship, and cooperation for the benefit of both peoples.
The occasion was opportune to express interest in continuing to expand relations beyond the spheres of education and health, and to take advantage of existing potential in sectors such as culture and sports.
The Cuban diplomat expressed the honor it represents to work closely with our Caribbean brothers and sisters, with whom we share not only a geographic area but also strong historical and cultural ties; and furthermore, we face common challenges as small, developing island states.
