Cuban ambassador holds meeting with top executive of the company Pernod Ricard in Austria

Vienna, October 30, 2020. As part of the activities to support commercial economic activity between Cuba and Austria, the Cuban Ambassador to this country Loipa Sánchez Lorenzo, held a meeting with the Managing Director of the French company Pernod Ricard Austria and his team, at their headquarters in Vienna.

The Pernod Ricard executive referred to the activity carried out in 2020 in Austria for the promotion and sale of Cuban rum Havana Club, with a view to reducing the impact caused by the effects of the COVID19 pandemic. The businessman expressed his optimism about the future of sales in the country and mentioned plans for next year with promotional campaigns suitable for the Austrian market.

The Cuban Ambassador offered extensive information on the situation in Cuba in the face of the COVID19 pandemic, which has been linked to a resurgence of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States during the Trump Administration. In the same way, he highlighted the government's efforts to promote a responsible recovery, offer security to businessmen in their activities in Cuba, and grant incentives to promote greater foreign investment on the island.

The diplomat thanked the firm for its work in promoting and selling Havana Club rum, one of Cuba's leading products, which is manufactured in Santa Cruz del Norte.

The Havana Club is marketed by the French company Pernod Ricard, created in 1975, which has become one of the largest in the world in the production and marketing of wines and spirits.
