Addis Ababa, September 9, 2021. Today, Cuban Ambassador Vilma Thomas Ramírez held a meeting with the Director General of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Mr Yoseph Kassaye, at the headquarter of that institution.
Both parties highlighted the good historical bilateral relations between the two countries. Likewise, they followed up on topics of mutual interest in multilateral forums.
The Cuban Ambassador thanked the Ethiopian diplomat for his country's support for the resolution against the United States blockade of Cuba, adopted at the United Nations General Assembly, which is a traditional Ethiopian position and was reiterated in the most recent vote last June.
For his part, Mr. Yoseph Kassaye expressed his appreciation for the principled position assumed by Cuba in the Human Rights Council, in light of the resolution adopted by that body on Ethiopia, at a time when his country is facing attempts to interfere in its internal affairs.
