Addis Ababa, October 13, 2023. The Cuban ambassador to Ethiopia, Jorge Lefebre Nicolás, held a meeting with the Minister of Culture and Sports of this African nation, H.E. Kejela Merdasa Tulu, in which they evaluated the possibilities of cooperation in the sports sector between the two countries.
The Cuban ambassador presented the final revision by the Cuban side of the Memorandum of Understanding on Sports, Physical Education and Recreation, which is ready for signature.
During the meeting, the Cuban diplomat also highlighted the cultural similarities of the music and dance of both countries, thus reaffirming the Cuban cultural heritage from Africa.
For his part, Minister Merdasa highlighted his ministry's interest in re-establishing collaborations with Cuba in sports matters and the willingness to work on joint projects with Cuban entities, as well as signing the pending MoU between the two countries.
