Addis Ababa, October 20, 2021. At the conclusion of her diplomatic mission in Ethiopia, the Cuban Ambassador Vilma Thomas Ramírez was received by the Minister of Health of that country, Dra Lia Tadesse, at the headquarters of the Ministry.
Ambassador Vilma thanked Dr. Lia Tadesse for the possibility of working together in order to promote cooperation between the two countries in health matters during her mission. He also reiterated the will of the Cuban Government to expand collaboration with Ethiopia, based on the inter-ministerial agreement signed in October 2019.
Both parties also discussed the development of Cuban vaccines against COVID 19 and the results obtained by Cuba with the vaccination campaign.
For her part, the Ethiopian Minister of Health expressed her appreciation for the work carried out by the Cuban Ambassador in terms of promoting bilateral cooperation and seeking new spaces for exchange between the two countries. Dr. Lia Tadesse reiterated her interest in continuing to work with Cuba in key sectors for her country, such as health and vaccine production.
