Cuban ambassador meets with Ethiopian parliamentarians

Addis Ababa, July 23, 2021. The Ambassador of Cuba, Vilma Thomas Ramírez, was received by the President of the International Relations Commission of the House of Peoples' Representatives of Ethiopia, the Honorable Dr. Negeri Lencho Bultum, and the Secretary General of that institution Dra Mesrak Mekonnen, accompanied by other members of Parliament.

The Ambassador made an update on topics of interest in the current Cuban reality, as well as on the impact of the United States blockade, the aggressive policy that the White House maintains against Cuba and the media campaigns that, promoted from that country, distort the Cuban reality and try to promote internal destabilization.

Both parties agreed on the right of each country to attend to its internal affairs by itself and to seek solutions to its own problems without interference from any other State.

The President of the International Relations Commission of the House of Peoples' Representatives of Ethiopia expressed his confidence in the ability of the Cuban Government and people to overcome the current difficulties that the country faces and reiterated the solidarity of his country with Cuba in the struggle against the Blockade.
