Addis Ababa, July 15th 2021. This morning, the Cuban Ambassador Vilma Thomas Ramírez held a meeting with the Ethiopian State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Redwan Husseind, at the headquarter of that institution.
The Cuban Ambassador acknowledged the Ethiopian support to Cuba at the United Nations General Assembly during the recent approval, by 184 vs 2, (United States and Israel) of the resolution calling for the lifting of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
Both parties also exchanged on issues of bilateral interest as well as on the internal situation in both countries and agreed on the right of each country to resolve its internal affairs, without interference from any other State.
On July 18, Cuba and Ethiopia will be celebrating the 46th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations. During those years, both countries have consolidated their cooperation and mutual support, based on the historical ties that unite both peoples.
