London, 20 January 2026.- Her Excellency the Ambassador of Cuba to the United Kingdom held a pivotal meeting with Steve Witherden MP to officially congratulate him on his recent election as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Cuba.
During the meeting, the Ambassador and Mr. Witherden discussed the current state of bilateral relations and the urgent need for collaboration in the face of escalating hostility and threats from the Trump administration. Both parties highlighted the importance of upholding diplomatic engagement in these challenging times.
We welcome the APPG's renewed commitment to defending Cuban sovereignty and fostering dialogue here in London. It is vital that voices in the British Parliament continue to advocate for constructive engagement. We look forward to working closely with Steve Witherden MP and the APPG members to build bridges, not walls, between our peoples.
