Cuban Ambassador meets with the President of the Austrian Agricultural Cluster

Vienna, January 29. Cuban Ambassador Pablo Berti Oliva held a pleasant meeting with the president of the Austrian Agricultural Cluster (AAC), Mr. Sebastian Auernig and members of its board of directors.

As part of the promotion of cooperation between the two countries in agricultural and trade matters, the Cuban diplomat presented Cuba's achievements and challenges in agroecology, sustainable agriculture and animal health, among others. For their part, the members of the ACC explained the characteristics of the Cluster, the interests of its members and the areas of common interest.

The First Secretary of the Embassy, Dr. Belkis Romeu Alvarez, also made a presentation on the potential for cooperation with Cuban entities dedicated to animal health and scientific areas, in which the country has achieved important results. Mr. Hermann Wieser, General Director of AAC and Mr. Alexander Manrique Gómez, Sales Director of GeneticAUSTRIA GmbH, expressed their interest in learning more about these topics.

At the same time, the participation of its members in the Biocubagro 2025 Congress “From biotechnology research to agricultural products”, to be held from June 8 to 13, 2025, in Varadero, Cuba, was promoted.

The Austrian Agricultural Cluster (AAC) is the association that currently represents 25 leading companies and associations in the various sectors of the Austrian and European agri-food chain. The business cluster, founded in 1999, is oriented towards export, consulting and cooperation of the most innovative Austrian producers of agricultural, food processing and renewable energy technologies. They also cooperate with the delegations and regional offices of the European Union and associate members of universities and the Federal Agricultural Institutes for Research, Education and Agribusiness, providing a broad platform for scientific knowledge and solutions for agricultural practice and animal production.
