The Cuban Ambassador to India, Alejandro Simancas Marin, was received by Sanjay Verma, Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs. During the exchange, they reviewed the main aspects of the bilateral relations and highlighted the basis of collaboration, respect and dialogue that have characterized them.
The Cuban Ambassador ratified the feeling of gratitude to the Government and people of India for their position in favor of lifting the US blockade, which remains the main obstacle to the development of the Island. They agreed on the willingness to continue working to strengthen bilateral relations, the dialogue between both Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the efforts to increase economic and trade links.
The Indian Foreign Secretary fondly recalled his trip to Cuba in 2018, accompanying then President Ram Nath Kovind, when he paid his official visit to Cuba.
