Addis Ababa, April 18, 2025.- The Ambassador of Cuba to Ethiopia and concurrent to South Sudan, Ms. Meylin Suárez Álvarez, held a cordial meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan, H.E. Mr. Monday Semaya Kumba, who was in Addis Ababa fulfilling an official work agenda.
During the meeting, Ambassador Suárez Álvarez congratulated Minister Semaya Kumba on his recent appointment as head of his country's foreign policy, and expressed best wishes in the exercise of his new responsibilities. She also reiterated Cuba's commitment to continue strengthening ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation with South Sudan.
Both sides highlighted the historic nature of diplomatic relations between Cuba and South Sudan, and agreed on the mutual willingness to continue promoting key areas of collaboration, in particular the training of human resources, a fundamental pillar in the ties between the two nations.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding, reflecting the spirit of cooperation that has characterized bilateral ties since their establishment.
This meeting reaffirms the willingness of both governments to expand political dialogue and continue to strengthen cooperation for the benefit of their peoples.
