Vienna, December 9, 2025.- The Cuban Ambassador to Austria, Pablo Berti Oliva, held a working meeting with Mr. Markus Reiter, Head of Vienna's District 7 (Neubau), at the district administration headquarters.
During the cordial meeting, both parties expressed their willingness to work together for the benefit of the Neubau community. Ambassador Berti Oliva emphasized the Diplomatic Mission's special pride in being the only one located in District 7.
The Cuban diplomat highlighted the importance of strengthening this bond of good neighborliness, especially in view of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Austria in 2026. To this end, the Cuban Embassy and the District Office agreed to develop joint cultural activities to bring Cuban traditions and culture closer to the residents of Neubau.
Mr. Reiter, recognized for his social work and his promotion of ecological transformation and community cohesion projects in the District, showed great interest in strengthening ties with the Embassy.
This meeting marks a new phase in the direct institutional collaboration between the Cuban Embassy and the authorities and population of District 7.
The Cuban Embassy in Austria and Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office in Vienna and International Organizations based in Austria has been located at Kaiserstrasse 84/1/1 for 20 years. This places it within Vienna's District 7 (Neubau), one of the city's 23 districts.
