The Ambassador of Cuba to Liberia, H.E. Dr. Indira López Argüelles, held an exchange with Ms. Rachel T. Saykiamien, Head of Press of the Women NGOs Secretariat of Liberia (WONGOSOL).
During the meeting, the Ambassador provided an update on the situation in Cuba, the effects of the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade, the country’s energy situation, and Cuba’s concerns regarding current international tensions. She also presented the report on the blockade.
Both sides exchanged views on opportunities to strengthen links between women’s organizations in Liberia and their Cuban counterparts.
Ms. Saykiamien expressed interest in promoting future exchanges and contacts with Cuban organizations, particularly to share experiences and best practices in areas of common interest.
The Ambassador welcomed this willingness and highlighted the value of strengthening ties between women and women’s organizations in both countries.
