Cuban Ambassador participates in the "Annual Day" of the José Martí School in Delhi.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in India, Alejandro Simancas Marin, was invited to the "Annual Day" of the José Martí Public School located in New Delhi. The event was presided over by Karuna Sree Kunumuri, Principal of this educational center; Pramila Tokas, Member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly; Dr. Sanjay Chaturvedi, Deputy Director of Education of the South East District of Delhi; Dr. Rajbir Singh Yadav, Deputy Director of Education of Zone 19 of Delhi; and Manish Jain, Deputy Director of Education of the Delhi Secretariat. 

The Cuban diplomat, accompanied by Karuna Sree and the rest of the guests at the event, paid tribute to the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí, in front of a bust that highlights his figure at the school premises. 

Likewise, during his exchange with authorities of the school and the Ministry of Education of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, Ambassador Alejandro Simancas pointed out the education sector as one of the priorities of the Cuban government. He also recalled the traditional friendship between the peoples of the two countries, highlighting this year's commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the first visit of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to India. 

As part of the celebration, the Cuban Ambassador congratulated and accompanied the presentation of awards to professors and students who were recognized for their academic performance.
