Beirut, March 12, 2020. The Cuban ambassador, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, participated together with Latin American Heads of Mission, in a meeting with the Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab.
The officials discussed the situation in Lebanon and the government plans to get out of the current crisis and revitalize the country's economy. Also was discussed about the economic potentialities in Latin America and the Caribbean for the development of economic and commercial relations.
During his speech, the Cuban Chief of Mission acknowledges the possibilities of establishing mutually beneficial collaboration mechanisms between Cuba and Lebanon in the health sector, where the island has developed a high level in despite of the blockade, and the threats imposed for the United States.
For his part, the Prime Minister expressed his interest in making a tour of our region to learn first-hand about business and investment possibilities.
An obligatory point of analysis was the coronavirus epidemic that affects a large part of the world, and the measures implemented by Lebanon and the latinamerican countries to combat its spread.
Heads of Mission from Venezuela, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia and Chile also participated in the meeting.
