Ljubljana, October 9, 2025. The Cuban Ambassador to Slovenia, concurrently accredited to Vienna, Austria, paid a working visit to Ljubljana from October 7 to 9.

As part of the visit, he held several meetings with officials from the Slovenian Foreign Ministry, with whom he discussed the good state of bilateral relations and how to further improve them. The talks took place in a cordial atmosphere and demonstrated the interest of both parties in continuing to promote projects of mutual interest.

In addition to meeting with Cuban residents and promoting Slovenian tourism to Cuba, the Cuban ambassador held a working meeting with the Cervantes Institute in Ljubljana, with which it was agreed to strengthen cooperation in promoting Cuban culture in Slovenia.

The highlight of the visit was the screening of the documentary “Tarea vida” at the Kinoteca, attended by officials from the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. In a packed theater, the audience learned about the fight against climate change in Cuba, the impact of the blockade against the country, and the Cuban people's ability to fight for their sovereignty and survival in the face of climate phenomena and the sanctions imposed on them.
