Cuban Ambassador presents Letters of Credence to the Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty
Vienna, March 23, 2023 - Cuban Ambassador Pablo Berti Oliva, in a solemn ceremony, presented to His Excellency Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, the Letters of Credence accrediting him as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cuba to this international organization.
During the meeting held with the Cuban Ambassador, Mr. Floyd acknowledged the cooperation maintained by his organization with Cuba and the importance of continuing to promote it. He also referred to the impediments the organization faces in this cooperation due to the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.
The Permanent Representative of Cuba reiterated Cuba's commitment as a State Party to the Treaty and conveyed the country's recognition of the work carried out by the Executive Secretary. He also gave an update on the consequences of the blockade against Cuba and the impact it has on the international organizations of which the country is a State Party.
