Cuban Ambassador Receives Association of Victims of War in Liberia

One of the NGOs representing victims of the Liberian civil war, LAMASA, visited the Cuban Embassy, ​​where they reiterated their gratitude to the Cuban doctors for their presence during the Ebola epidemic and for the scholarships Cuba offers to young Liberians to study medicine. They also requested professional support to heal the wounds of the conflict.

The Cuban Ambassador to Monrovia, Dr. Indira López Argüelles, mentioned that there are victims of state terrorism in Cuba, with more than 3,000 people disabled and 2,000 dead, as well as the multiple attacks that the Cuban people have been subjected to, the most sustained of which is the U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade.

The diplomat expressed the international community's confidence in the peace process in Liberia and reaffirmed Cuba's support for development and peace in this African nation by strengthening South-South cooperation.
