Greytown, April 16. During April 15 and 16, Ambassador Edgardo Valdés visited the agricultural region of Wairarapa, near the capital, as part of a program coordinated by the Foreign Ministry. Accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Primary Industries, Fonterra and by Mel Poulton, farmer and Special Envoy for Agricultural Trade, he was able to visit several farms and exchange with their owners, specialized in certified seed production, sheep and cow breeding, meat export, milk production, forestry and vineyards. The experience was very instructive and he was able to verify the intensive application of technology by people with a broad commitment and knowledge of their activity and environmental challenges. A good start for future exchanges.
