Cuban ambassador visits Embassy of Guinea Bissau in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, January 23, 2025.- The Cuban ambassador to the African Union, Lucas Domingo Hernández Polledo, paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Guinea Bissau in Addis Ababa, where he held a meeting with its ambassador, María Antonieta Pinto Lopes D'Alva. 

The Cuban Ambassador after his arrival in the country has visited a number of African embassies as part of his introduction as Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Permanent Observer to the African Union.

During the meeting held at the headquarters of the Bissauguinean Embassy, Ambassador Hernandez expressed gratitude to African countries for their support in the fight against the blockade of Cuba and its removal from the spurious and unilateral list of states that allegedly sponsor terrorism. Hernandez highlighted the approval for the fiftieth consecutive time of resolutions within the framework of the AU Summits calling for an end to the blockade against Cuba. 

Ambassador Lopes D'Alva stressed that, over the years, relations between Cuba and Africa have been an example of genuine solidarity, based on committed values of justice, equality and respect for the sovereignty of the peoples and she said "Our mutual commitment has been a source of strength to face common challenges."
