The Liberian Cultural and Learning Center, located in Paynesville, is one of the facilities created jointly by the Liberian diaspora and the Liberian government to promote knowledge among its children and youth. On its second anniversary, the center invited the Cuban Ambassador, Dr. Indira López Arguelles, to one of its working sessions.
In addition to admiring the efficient use of renewable energy and rainwater harvesting, the Ambassador witnessed the work of Canadian and Liberian university volunteers. She explained to those present the characteristics of the education and cultural system of the Caribbean island, which, despite the US embargo, has continued to support younger generations in their academic and cultural development.
