Cuban Ambassador visits University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna

Vienna, December 18. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Austria, Pablo Berti Oliva, paid a working visit today to the prestigious University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna (BOKU).

During the meeting, he learned about the different areas of work at the university, particularly on topics relevant to both parties. He learned about the existing cooperation between professors at BOKU and the Fructuoso Rodríguez Pérez Agricultural University of Havana (UNAH). Recently, a professor and dean from UNAH spent time at BOKU as part of the existing ties.

Ambassador Berti Oliva highlighted the interest of Cuba and its universities in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation ties with Austrian universities. At the same time, he highlighted the research achievements on the Caribbean island and the possibilities of promoting joint research with universities such as BOKU.

BOKU University is one of the best life sciences universities in Europe, distinguished by its holistic approach to research and teaching. It was established in 1872 as a small agricultural university. Its scientists, students, and graduates work on solutions to pressing social problems and for a sustainable future.
