Cuban Ambassadors in Ethiopia and to the African Union convey New Year 2026 greetings in a Special Edition of The Ethiopian Herald

Addis Ababa, January 1, 2026.- On the occasion of the New Year, the Ambassadors of the Republic of Cuba to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and to the African Union, Meylin Suárez Álvarez and Lucas Domingo Hernández Polledo, respectively, extend to the brotherly people and Government of Ethiopia their warmest and most fraternal wishes for peace, prosperity, and well-being.

Ethiopia holds a special place in the hearts of the Cuban people. We are united by deep historical ties, forged on the basis of mutual respect, solidarity, and cooperation in pursuit of the sovereignty, dignity, and development of our peoples. These bonds, consolidated over the past 50 years, continue to be strengthened by the political will of our governments and the profound affection between our peoples.

We also highly value Ethiopia’s historic and current role as host of the African Union and its leadership in promoting unity, peace, and development on the African continent.

As this new year begins, we reiterate Cuba’s firm commitment to continue deepening friendship, South-South cooperation, and political dialogue with the countries of Africa, guided by the principles of solidarity, social justice, and multilateralism.

May the new year bring new opportunities, collective achievements, and hope to all African families.

From Cuba, we extend a fraternal embrace and our best wishes for a prosperous and fulfilling future.
