Addis Ababa, February 12, 2025.- In a high-level meeting, the delegation of the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), led by its Secretary General, the Rev. Dr. Fidon Mwombeki, visited the Cuban Residence in Ethiopia, where they held talks with the ambassadors of Cuba to Ethiopia and the African Union, Meylin Suárez and Lucas D. Hernández.
During the meeting, key issues such as the process of reparations to Africa and people of African descent were addressed, highlighting the importance of historical justice and the recognition of the impacts of colonialism and slavery. Both sides exchanged ideas on possible joint projects in various areas of cooperation.
Cuba reaffirmed its support for the reparations process and highlighted its role as part of the Sixth Region of the African Union, in recognition of the deep historical and cultural ties that unite the Caribbean country with the African continent.
This meeting reinforces the historic relationship of solidarity between Cuba and Africa, consolidating cooperation in areas of mutual interest and strengthening the ties of brotherhood between both parties.
