Cuban ambassadors pay courtesy visit to the Embassy of Burkina Faso in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, May 28, 2025.- The Cuban Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Ambassador to the African Union, Meylin Suárez and Lucas Domingo Hernández, paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Burkina Faso in Addis Ababa, where they were warmly received by the Burkinabe ambassador, H.E. Sylvain Yamtiguimda Yameogo.

In a cordial atmosphere of mutual respect, the representatives engaged in dialogue with the aim of continuing to strengthen the ties of friendship and reciprocity between the two nations. They also shared an interest in continuing to work toward solid cooperation based on respect and solidarity.

In his speech, Cuba's ambassador to the African Union, Lucas D. Hernández, denounced the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against the island, as well as the unjustified inclusion of Cuba on the unilateral list of state sponsors of terrorism. He also expressed his deep gratitude for the support, solidarity, and backing of African nations for the just cause of lifting the blockade.

The visit is an expression of Cuba's interest in continuing to strengthen diplomatic ties with the countries of the African continent.
