Cuban and Trinidadian celebrate the 64th anniversary of the assaults on military barracks Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes.

Port of Spain, July 30 .- The Cuban State Mission in collaboration with the Solidarity Movement with Cuba in Trinidad and Tobago celebrated this Sunday, July 30, the 64th anniversary of the assaults on the Military Barracks Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and Moncada. The event also had the importance of serving as a farewell to the current group of Cuban collaborators in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, who culminate their mission after three years of valuable work throughout the Trinitarian territory.

 

During the celebration, Clyde Callender, president of the Cuba-Trinidad and Tobago Association of Friendship and Alex González, charge d´Affairs  a.i. of the Embassy of Cuba, emphasized the importance of the Moncada event as the spark that iniciated the way of the Cuban Revolution, as well as to remind the vocation of solidarity of the Revolution that has allowed the education and training of thousands of health professionals and the improvement of the quality of life in Cuba and many countries in the world.

 

The event, which was attended by Venezuelan diplomats accredited in Trinidad and Tobago, was held in parallel with the actions of the Venezuelan people in support of the National Constituent Assembly in Venezuela. In  this important moment for the Bolivarian Revolution, the occasion was propitious to reiterate the unconditional solidarity of Cuba with the Venezuelan people and Government, and reject the aggression and violence to which this country is subjected.

 

The program of the event included the screening of the documentary "All Guantánamo is ours", which recalled another of the current battles of the Cuban people, in this case the legitimate demand of Cuba for the return of the territory illegally occupied by the US naval base In the bay of Guantánamo.

 

As is traditional, the occasion was used to deliver certificates in recognition of the outstanding  work of  health collaborators  in the different regions in which they work.
