Monrovia, August 24, 2018- In the afternoon of Thursday, August 23, the Assistant Minister for International Organizations Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Mrs. N. Yaba Freeman-Thompson, received in her office the Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba in Liberia, Yordenis Despaigne Vera. The meeting was also attended by the Second Secretary, Carmen Maury Toledo, on the Cuban side.
During the courtesy visit, the Cuban diplomat congratulated Mrs. Freeman-Thompson for her recent appointment as head of multilateral issues. He highlighted the historical coincidences that Cuba and Liberia have shared in various international scenarios, such as the defense of multilateralism, peace and nuclear disarmament, among others.
The Liberian official, for her part, expressed her gratitude for the visit received and pleaded to maintain the close ties of work that until now have been maintained with the Cuban diplomatic headquarters. (CubaMinrex / EmbaCuba Liberia)
