Liberia, March 4, 2020 - This morning, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Greater Antilles in this African country, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera, visited Dr. Mercedes Banqueris, an excellent Cuban doctor who works at the Oniyama Specialist and Teaching Hospital, a private clinic sponsored by Partner Liberia Inc.
During her visit, diplomat Martinez Herrera could confirm the respect and consideration gained by the Cuban galena, who with her work has helped to improve health indicators and to fight epidemics such as malaria, cholera and many other diseases.
Cuban medical collaboration, like any type of international cooperation offered by Cuba, is based on the principles of solidarity and mutual benefit.
As the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment has stated in this regard, it is carried out with unrestricted respect for the principles of international law and is not used as a political instrument of interference in its internal affairs.
Furthermore, Cuba conceives cooperation as a way of contributing to the development of peoples and their economic and social well-being.
