Beirut, January 27, 2019. Cuban children and young people living in Lebanon paid tribute in this capital to the National Hero José Martí on the 166th Anniversary of his birth.
The presentation of drawings, the declamation of poems, songs and the representation of a fragment of the play Abdala was the way to show the respect and admiration that all Cubans feel for the apostle.
The attending mothers read the well-known poetry Los zapaticos de rosa, while a girl dressed in the image and likeness of the protagonist of that work, made evolutions in synchrony with each fragment.
The Abdala play, which was 150 years since its publication on January 23, published in the revolutionary newspaper La Patria Libre, founded by the teenager José Martí, was another emotional moment of remembrance.
In that work, the apostle reflected his total definition of what was present throughout his life, the battle for the independence of Cuba against Spanish colonialism. (Embacuba Líbano)
