Cuban Culture Day Celebrated in Kuwait

Kuwait, October 20, 2026.- The Embassy of Cuba in Kuwait celebrated Cuban Culture Day, an event dedicated to showcasing the island’s cultural heritage and strengthening ties of friendship with the people and institutions of Kuwait. During the ceremony, the Cuban ambassador, Alain Pérez Torres, noted that this year’s celebration carried special significance as it was dedicated to the centennial of the birth of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, whose legacy is deeply linked to Cuba’s history, identity, and cultural heritage. He also highlighted Cuba’s cultural richness as an expression of the identity, creativity, and resilience of the Caribbean nation.

The event was attended by Latin American ambassadors and diplomats accredited to Kuwait, as well as representatives of Kuwaiti society, who shared an atmosphere of cultural exchange and brotherhood among peoples. The participation of such a broad and diverse audience reflected the interest in getting to know the artistic richness and customs of Cuba more closely.

In addition, a representative of “Casa del Habano” delivered a talk on the history of Cuban tobacco, its artisanal tradition, and its deep roots in national culture. Attendees learned about the origins and evolution of this symbol of Cuba, which has crossed borders and remains an emblem of the island around the world.
