Medicare Fraud Allegations are New Slanders Against Cuba

Recent statements made by some US Government officials speculate, without any evidence whatsoever, about the fact that the Government of Cuba could be involved in frauds targeting the US health care program Medicare in South Florida. This is a new slander fabricated by anti-Cuban sectors in that country.
Cuban Government Announces Decision to Grant Pardons to More Than 2,000 Prisoners
As part of the process of granting penitentiary benefits established by law, and in accordance with Article 90, subsection II of the Constitution of the Republic, the decision was made to release 2,010 convicted individuals through a pardon approved by the Cuban government.
This humanitarian and sovereign gesture followed a careful analysis of the nature of the crimes committed, the good behavior maintained in prison, the completion of a significant portion of the sentence, and the health status of those involved.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, in response to the arbitrary, unjustified, and hostile decision of the government of the Republic of Ecuador to declare all Cuban diplomatic, consular, and administrative personnel accredited in that country persona non grata, and given the impossibility of maintaining diplomatic representation, has decided to cease using the building used as the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy and to withdraw, with immediate effect, all attributes and symbols identifying its diplomatic mission in Quito.
