US Military Deployment in the Caribbean Sea Threatens the Region Under Absurd Pretexts

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Cuban Government strongly rejects the current deployment of United States military forces in the Caribbean Sea. This dangerous action represents a serious threat and an aggressive show of force against the sovereignty and self-determination of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean. Furthermore, it ignores the commitment of the 33 Member States of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States when they proclaimed the region as a Zone of Peace.

Kuwait, June 6: Ambassador Alain Pérez Torres and Consul Grettel Maby Suri Echenique welcomed members of the Cuban community in the country to the Cuban Embassy in Kuwait, where they held extensive discussions.

During the meeting, the Ambassador discussed at length with those in attendance the situation in Cuba, as well as the negative impact on the people of the sanctions and the unprecedented intensification of the US blockade against our country. He also provided updated information on the new immigration regulations and their advantages for residents abroad.

Cuban Ambassador visits Kuwait University

Kuwait, June 1: Dr. Salem M. Alshammari, Vice Dean of Kuwait University, welcomed Cuban Ambassador Alain Pérez Torres. Dr. Salem was accompanied at the meeting by the heads of several departments of the academic institution.

During the meeting, both parties agreed on the existence of opportunities to strengthen and promote academic ties between Cuban universities and Kuwait University. They also discussed the possibility of Cuban students accessing scholarships to study Arabic.
