Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister receives director of Al Mayadeen
Josefina Vidal, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the professionalism of Ghassan Ben Jeddou, and congratulated him on the award of the Friendship Medal.
Cuba's Deputy Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal received in Havana the director of the pan-Arab satellite news network Al Mayadeen, Ghassan ben Jeddou, on the occasion of the director's working visit to the island.
Vidal praised the professionalism and rigor of the outstanding journalist and television presenter, who stands out for his trajectory of solidarity with the Caribbean nation and unconditional attachment to the defense of the Cuban Revolution.
She also congratulated him for the recent imposition of the Friendship Medal conferred by the Council of State, proposed by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and delivered by the President of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel.
In her Twitter profile, the diplomat described the meeting as friendly, and recognized the key role of Al Mayadeen in making known the progressive voices of Our America and their struggles in the Arab world.
Also participating in the meeting were Wafy Ibrahim, head of the network's Spanish-language site and advisor for Latin American affairs; the Foreign Press director of the Foreign Ministry, Rebeca Hernández, and the director of North Africa and the Middle East, Alexander Pellicer Moraga.
Headquartered in Beirut, the Lebanese capital, Al Mayadeen is a multi-media platform that shows the reality of the Arab peoples, especially the Palestinian cause, and also accompanies the revolutionary processes in Iran, China, Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua and Brazil.
