Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Inés Maria Chapman attends the Celebrations for the 50th Anniversary of the independence of The Bahamas.

Nassau, July 9. Responding to an invitation from the government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba Inés María Chapman Waugh, heads an official Cuban delegation that participates in the activities for the 50th Anniversary of the Independence of the Caribbean nation.

As part of the program of activities, she was received by the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Honorable Philip Davis, whom she thanked for the invitation and conveyed a congratulatory message from President Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz and the Cuban people in this special celebration, wishing to the country new successes and prosperity.

The Bahamian Prime Minister reiterated his country's unequivocal position of rejecting sanctions against Cuba.
